– a story about Daniel Gildenlöw and Pain of Salvation
For eight years, between 2007–2014, we have followed Daniel Gildenlöw and Pain of Salvations footsteps and filmed their progress.
This has resulted in this documentary that we will now present in a webseries. How many episodes or how many seasons it will be when everything is finished, is still written in the stars. We are still in the process of editing the upcoming episodes, but we are determined to see this through.
In any case, season 1 is now finished and the episodes will hopefully be posted here every other week.
We wish, from the bottom of our hearts, to thank everyone and anyone that one way or another have been involved in this long journey. Many thanks to all the members of Pain of Salvation for being so patient with us, letting us go on this amazing ride with you, and doing so with all the joy, warmth and acceptance that you have shown us in these past years. It has been a fantastic experience and a memory we will cherish for the rest our days.
We want to address a special thanks to Daniel Gildenlöw and his family, his wife Johanna and their children. Without the hospitality and support you have shown us, this project of ours would never have been possible to begin with.
Of course we have not forgotten all of you fans that we met around the world. You are truly amazing.
We owe alot to the support we received from Birgitta Olsson at Film in Halland, who always kept faith in us and who helped to financially supported us with the funds available. Our grattituide also goes out to the FilmCentrum Syd for the their technical assistance.
We hope you are all as excited as we are about seeing the result of our hard work.
The film will primarily reflect Daniel Gildenlöws utter dedication, conviction and uncompromising. And the consequences of this.
With support from:
THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS!!!
It is amazing to see this insight into the way Daniel thinks and how the band operates, how they reacted to obstacles on the way, and so on…
Priceless and a must watch for any serious Pain Of Salvation fan!
I have a question, though – how many episodes is ”season 1”? And after S1 is done, what would be the estimated wait before S2 starts?
Thank you 🙂
Thanks for the kind words, Mario!
The first season will feature six episodes (plus the prologue).
As for season two, it is still a bit uncertain when we will be able to publish it. We work with the subtitling, which takes some time. Hopefully sometime this fall.
Take care!
Leif and Johan
Wonderful documentary! Amazing to witness the moments and developments of the band in such an honest and genuine way. I love how the film is so down to earth, showing the ordinary life, the ups and the downs, the joys and the disappointments. Having followed the band for more than ten years, this is a bit unreal to have this kind of a glimpse into the world of PoS. Positively unreal! 🙂
Eagerly waiting for the rest of the S1 episodes and of course S2. Best wishes to you and to the band. Thank you!
This was an amazing surprise to stumble upon. I’ve enjoyed every minute of this so far, it’s really interesting to get a sneak preview into Daniels mind & life.
I helped Daniel to film and edit their first video ”! Foreword”, and it’s nice to see how determined he still is.
Looking forward to season 2, keep up the good work!

This is very nicely done and very interesting.
An insight into a professional band, which shows some of the same hurdles I experienced in my amateur career…
Great work!!

So glad to see the first episode of season 2, brilliant stuff. Keep it coming!
Or as we say in Sweden, underbart!
Guys, you have done a great work, I cannot say how much it touched me. It was really awesome, to let us know what Daniel and all the others were feeling and thinking, to get us closer to them. To deliver such an emotional experience – just like Pain of Salvation always did.
Thank you so much!
